The numerous industries in the Philippines provide different job opportunities. These include the growing industries of agriculture, health, software and business process outsourcing, among many others.

Being the primary industry in the country, agriculture provides work for many individuals especially those living in the provinces. The agricultural industry is now continuously being developed as researches and studies are being conducted to increase agricultural yields and production.

In urban areas, business process outsourcing or BPO is slowly emerging as one of the most in demand industries in the country. The Philippines has become a hub for many foreign business operations which includes customer-relation services, financial management, software development, as well as medical reporting.

According to the Asian Call Center Review which was released in 2003, the Philippines ranked first in the offshore customer service industry. The Philippines also topped other industries such as software animation, web design, and even graphics animation.

International companies employed more than 200,000 Filipinos in 2006. As this growth continues, the business process outsourcing industry is expected to bring in an estimated revenue of $3.8 billion every year.

There are a number of reasons behind this high demand for Filipino workers. First off, Filipinos are very proficient in speaking and in writing using the English language. Apart from this, Filipinos are also noted for their high degree of trainability, labor quality, and superior work ethics.

A big part of the work force can also be found abroad. Every year, skilled and professional Filipino laborers work in foreign countries. Professionals such as nurses, care givers and teachers are employed in different countries.
